| ECHO NIGHT™: BEYOND BROADENS THE ADVENTURE GENRE IN NORTH AMERICA,
EXCLUSIVELY ON PLAYSTATION®2 Latest Echo Night Franchise Offers Players A Truly Unique Experience SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 6, 2004 – AGETEC Inc., a leading publisher of entertainment software, today announced it will bring Echo Night™: Beyond , the newest installment of the highly regarded Echo Night franchise, to North America exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system this Summer. Developed and published by FromSoftware in Japan, Echo Night: Beyond is a true, traditional adventure game fused with survival-horror elements offering fresh, new gameplay mechanics, an innovative puzzle system and a truly captivating storyline. Set in a visually stunning world of life-like graphics and beautifully detailed environments Echo Night: Beyond delivers an epic horror-adventure perfect for fans of strategy, adventure, and role-playing games. “The Echo Night franchise remains one of the most cerebral and atmospheric games available,” said Mark Johnson, Vice-President of Marketing AGETEC, Inc. “Echo Night: Beyond looks to follow that great lineage by keeping gamers on the edge of their seats and immersed in the gameplay.” Echo Night: Beyond introduces gamers to a unique first-person style of adventure gaming by taking them on a paranormal voyage to the moon and immersing them in a world of fascination, fear, and mystery. Set 239,000 miles from Earth in the year 2044 and armed with nothing more than flashlight after a tragic moon shuttle crash, players assume the role of Richard Osmond after he wakes up to find himself stranded outside the Lunar Station “Diana” with no sign of his fiancée. As the sudden isolated darkness grips him, he has no choice but venture forth into the darkness to face his overwhelming fears. A wonderfully atmospheric adventure waits in the now ghost-occupied compound with a multitude of puzzles to solve and multiple ending to uncover. The spirits Richard encounter pave the way to locating his lost fiancée, but in order to release their souls, the ghosts have wishes that must be granted - their final mortal desires that are keeping them from crossing over. With the use of various surveillance cameras located throughout the station, players can search out ghost locations and discover clues to what happened. Ghost can suddenly appear from blind spots (missed by the camera) or hidden behind objects, and give the player a constant sense of fear during exploration. An innovative heartbeat sensor monitors the player's heartbeat and is the key between life and death; if the terror gets too much, he'll join the sprits he's trying to help.
